Correct and it is heading for port in Syria between US ships and Syria proper. Saber rattling- all planned for optics. Russia knew the attack was coming.

The whole problem with the Syrian issue is no one will step up on national tv and ask all the proponents of inserting our foot into the fray who is fighting who over there that we need to support. Does anyone think the rebel forces are fighting in order to set up a democratic non sectarian form of government. If Assad goes there's Just going to be another power vacuum for isis et. al.to exploit. Imho better the devil you know. I see all the poor refugees that surprisingly seem to be primarily military age young men and ask myself if these guys won't stand up for hearth and home why should we send some kid from Iowa over there in harms way.

We're not supporting anybody with this latest action. Trump just let it be known that using weapons of mass destruction in any form will bring repercussions. As you say, there is nobody to support.

If we had the chance to surveill Russians launching their weapons and gather every bit of knowledge about launch protocols, flight patterns, and all other intel, don't you think we'd jump at it?
Because having a ringside seat for that kind of thing is a golden opportunity.

Because having a ringside seat for that kind of thing is a golden opportunity. And the Ruskies are smart enough to now want us to get any of that intel, which is why they never spun up their SA-10/SA-12's in the area. We also didn't hit the Russian SA-10/12, but took out some Syrian SA-6's. All this happened while the head Chinese bureaucrat was in town, demonstrating we are willing to shoot at Russia's dog, and by extension, if the Chinese don't get their dog on a tighter leash, we will shoot him as well.
