Anybody here have any experience with these? Looking at a 6.5 CM or 7-08 surprssor ready or a compact for the wife or daughter to shoot. Thoughts?

I too was wondering about the XPR in the suppressor ready versions.
How do they shoot? Why aren't there any other very affordable suppressor ready rifles by other manufactures?
You can throw the ruger american predator in the mix, but it has a very long barrel. And I haven't heard anyone say anything about the remington 700 SPS suppressor ready versions.
Am I missing something else that should be considered? (mossberg MVP , savage hog hunter-- meh)

The .308 Predator has a short barrel...18 1/2" I believe.

southtexas - "is 22" a "very long barrel"?? " I guess in some parts of the U.S. it qualifies. Just re-read Boddington's "Safari Rifles II" He had a .318 Westley Richards with a 28 inch long tube...that qualifies it as a flagpole. Homesteader

I could see a Compact XPR in 6.5 Creed being pointed out the window of my truck for pigs. 13" LOP and 20" bbl would be good for kids too...
They look like they've got some kind of grey Cerakote finish. Anyone know what it is?

They look like they've got some kind of grey Cerakote finish. Anyone know what it is? Believe Winchester labels the coating on the XPR as PermaCoat. Likely a CeraKote-like finish. As to how they shoot, I'll know in a few weeks. Got 6.5 with the KUIU Verde camouflage stock on its way. Got a 'screamin' deal on it, and couldn't see passing it up.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

https://shop.whittakerguns.com/product/ss-6683I picked up one of these for my truck gun. Compact and supressor ready. $354 for a threaded barrel with pic rail already on top and shoots better than my Kimber Montana 308 did (hate to admit it ) If wanting to run with a suppressor than the 18.5" barrel will be nice as well.
