Went out Monday morning here in coastal NC hunting a pinewood between two swamps; worked this tom from the roost to the gun in 1-1/2 hours. He took a wide, circling path to the shot which happened when he peered out of a controlled burn area just in the woods to give the decoy a good look. 31 yard shot with Hevi-13 #5 shot. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/IMG_041012.JPG)

Thank you gents. Natty, I used an Ed's Custom slate pot call with an Ed's waterproof coated flair tip striker (the low center call/striker combo in this picture). Ed's is the old name for a local call maker - he markets as Wynne's now - local gunshops keep his calls and strikers in stock.
