The S&W Combat Medallions I had on it would punish you with stout .45 Colt loads. Have another pair on order to swap around on other N-frames.

That looks Terrible! Only fancy wood should be on a classic S&W revolver! . . . . . . . . . . .

few years ago, those grips cost me some money. I got through a pawn shop a real nice six inch 57 with those things on it. cost me some bucks to get real smith wood grips. To each his own i guess. My enabler seems to like them, but he might need a eye exam. plus he is getting older too.

How do they work/fit with the round butt? I didn't think Pachmayr Camo Combats came in a round butt configuration. If they do, I want a set!

What are those grips and who makes them? John, they're Pachmayrs. Kind of right in the middle between hard and soft rubber.

The second reason I bought these is so I don't tear the Medallions up in the field. Stout .45 Colt loads will beat you up right behind the trigger guard. PS- have an El Paso Tanker coming for this and the 25-5.

There is something just a bit 1980s "retro" about them that appeals to me, plus they really fit my hand well, and are comfortable to shoot.

I remember when they came out I thought they would look real good on a 6" 629. That was back before Survivalists became "preppers".

They are no longer made but there are usually a few new or like new sets on eBay all the time.. $20-35.00.... Nice gun LD... Bob

They need to start making these again, but for round butt guns.
I'm still looking for orange or yellow Hogue Tamers!

Nice camo Pachmyar Presentation grips. I'm not a fan of wood on my "shootin'" guns...put 'em on my BBQ guns instead, for "show & tell". At this point in my life, wood grips on magnums hurt my hands, I don't care who makes 'em. Padding is thinning out, & fingers getting boney.
I put a spare set of square butt Pachmayr Presentation grips on a round butt .45 Colt Mountain Gun just to see if it would work...it did, with no handling / shooting problems. They are still on it. I've used the Pachmyar Presentation grips on N-frames since the early 80's. Never was able to lay hands on the camo ones, though. Mine are all black.
Lately, I've been converting over to Pachmyar Diamond Pro grips. They better absorb recoil in my 44's and .357's. I put them on round butt Century Frame, J-Frame, L-Frame, GP100 & now N-Frames. That way, I've got the same grip feel on my EDC carry guns and my ridge walking / hunting sidearms. I like the Diamond Pro's much better than Hogues.

Actually i have packmyers on a number of N frames, just not the camo ones.

I was at an auction and bid up as a must have a 629 3inch, looks just like the 657 3inch. Now explain to me what difference .410 to .429 makes? but they do look like brothers side by side. I think the first N frame i put pachmayers on was a classic 4inch 29 that cabella's basically gave me. I like them.

....that is easy, .019....the difference is in the shooting....
I'm sure it is just me but in .44 I HATE shooting guns with less than a 6" barrel. {or 5" full lug Classic}. Can shoot short .41s all day long but hate the 4" 29s... Same with the 357 vs. a 329...
