Last week I picked up a 2002 Impala with 97,000 for $550 from an old lady who had driven it 2500 miles in the last year and a half. Had to jump it to start it. It runs perfectly and had been well maintained with all service records. The tires look brand new. The only problem it seems to have is that the temp control unit/fan is intermittently stuck on one fan speed (slow to nonexistent). When the fan and AC work it heats and cools just fine.

It is for our son in college, but it is nice to drive. I am currently driving it daily to work to test it and to start figuring out what the electrical problem might be.

Check the harness connector at the heater blower motor, they get corroded and fail. A replacement splice in connector is short $ through Amazon.

Now that '57 was a very cool car!

Hell the 50 Merc was cool.Nothin like a chopped 50 Merc lowered and shaved!!!! grin

The '50 Mercury looked just like this, (but faded) black with the windshield visor.

One of the things my current wife brought into the marriage is a 2006 Buick with about 40,000 miles on it. After years of dragging my old, fat ass in and out of compacts, I gotta say it's pretty cushy, if not exactly kick-ass manly. I'm still trying to figure out all the doo-dads.

I hate small cars. I'm most comfortable in my Dodge Ram 2500. The seats and leg room fit me much better than most cars.

Another one that would probably go another 150k miles with little investment. Hard to tell from the pictures, but the only ding I can see is on the front bumper. I'll bet they'd take $3k or less, and a new bumper is under $100.00.
