The thread about the Honda lawnmowers got me thinking about how much I love Honda equipment. Here is a partial list:
2002 Honda Rubicon 500 ATV. Bought new. It has the exact same Yuasa starting battery it had when I bought it in late 2001. It gave me scare last winter when I had to jump start it when it hadn't been run for a month. I bought a new battery and it is still sitting on the shelf in the garage. Other than changing the oil and filter, literally the only other things I have had done is align the front end and get the valves adjusted. We use it for spraying weeds in the summer, plowing snow in the winter, and it never misses a beat.
2003 EU3000i generator. I run the crap out of this thing, including running the AC on my 5th wheel and it never complains, always starts, and uses ridiculously small amounts of fuel.
2002 Honda 919 motorcycle. 0-60 in 3 flat and gets 48 mpg. In 40K miles, never in the shop.
2013 Accord. Probably the most trouble-free car I ever had. On a 3 year lease, all I ever did was change the oil. Never in the shop. 2017 replacement has the same boring reliability and gets 47 MPG down to Salt Lake and back.
Even the Chinese knock-off of a Honda on my wheel line mover is stone reliable.
My day job is running a small trucking company. How I wish Honda made semis. These Freighliners are going to bankrupt me.

I've had nothing but great luck with Honda's I've owned over the years.......
1980 XL250S, 1982 650 Custom, 1986 Big Red, 1999 450 Foreman, EB300c and EU200i. The only ones I still own are the last two, both generators.
All bought new except the EU200i........

My favorite Honda was a 4 cylinder 74 CB750 in plum color. Loved that bike and should have never let it go.

My 11 year old Honda Rancher isn't even broken in yet.
Had two Honda 4 Trax before that. They ran like new when I sold them... They were old, and had many, many hours on them.

I'm surprised they haven't got into pickups.

I'd always had good luck with Honda stuff, from the 196? motorcycle to cars, outboards, various small engines, you name it. Then I had a 2001 or 02 500 cc Rubicon. I loved the way it worked, great machine...until one day the transmission just self-destructed a long way from home on a frozen river....long hike home to get another quad to pull it back. Honda pretty much told me to go suck eggs, it was out of warranty....I ended up putting near a couple of grand in a machine worth about 3 or 3.5 at the time....left me with a bad taste for Honda...gave it to my brother...I'll stick with Yamaha quads now.

A couple years after Honda introduced the 750 4 cyl, my best buddy was in the navy stationed on a carrier off Nam. He had some R&R in Japan and wrote to me saying that the navy had a deal where he could get me one from the factory at barely above cost and bring it home on the ship. Groan! I was still in college and had a hard time feeding myself, let alone buy a bike even at that price.

have a '96 Honda 300x.
Thing has been thru hell and back - hold in the case, oil leaked out, previous owner JB welded it together.
I put some rings in it and it runs like a champ. and I treat it like crap, leave old gas in it, change the oil maybe once every 2 years.
Had a 86 Honda 250 ..a TRX I think. Thing was a tank, sold it and wish I hadn't.
Have 2 Honda TRX350D. In various states of repair, My winter project is to make one good one out of the 2, and get rid of those Polaris things I have now.
have you paid your dues, can you moan the blues, can you bend them guitar strings

Honda outboards are skookum too

Honda outboards are skookum too This one's been 'hanging out' with me going on 15 seasons.... probably last a long time if I'd take care of it. But Honda does make a great popsicle.

Started out on a XR75 mx at the ripe age of 8, then a CR175 at 15. Next was a TRAX300 bought new in 96, it's still going strong at my sons abode. I want it back but he'll never let go. He just kinda quietly 'took it' when he moved out. First Honda car was a 93' Accord SE I bought about 10 years ago and should have never sold. Now my daily driver is a 14 CRV, love it.
