Probably DEET will melt them too, it melts every thing else it seems. This for those doing the deed outdoors, in summer in boggy areas. Geno PS, WD-40 will kill paper wasps, I know.

like in the olden days, right after stage coaches and stuff,

Not what these products were "designed" for: Skunk Smell Remover Recipe 1 quart hydrogen peroxide 1/4 cup baking soda 1 tsp. dish detergent Sponge on and let dry. Safe for use on cats and dogs. If you need to double or triple this recipe you can easily do it. Do not use on clothes. Genome PS, you have dogs? You have skunks in the neighborhood? I'd suggest having these handy then. O I got to Alaska works to prevent skunk smell altogether. 😋 Watch it buddy, I see what you did there! And your solution to the skunk problem probably holds true for venomous snakes too? Geno PS, my neighbor already had a garden gnome statue she named Genome. You've been beaten to it!

Ketchup will clean up tarnished brass, copper, and silver. And do a real good job of it.

Geno Good one!! I've done that more than once in the olden days. We did it last week. Just eyeballed it though. I was driving a 1974 IH 1600 Loadstar down a gravel road when it decided to die. Had been acting funny for the last 5 miles. Thought it was a fuel issue. Had good spark... 2-3 hours later and a trip to town for a condenser and coil it fired right up. Not sure which one went out. Worst part was when I temporarily lost the tiny screw that holds the condenser clamp. Lucked out and found it with a flashlight.

Haven't done this one myself, but watched it on Youtube and found it very interesting. Channel by the name of AVE, used alum with a small bulb for a heat source to dissolve a broken steel stud in an aluminum head. Took a couple days but ate that stud right up and left a nice clean hole and threads.

Mustard takes the sting out of burns. Put it on a burn ASAP and let it dry. Your still burnt but the pain isn't as bad.

Rub a bar of soap on a serpintine belt to stop it from squealing. Canola oil when tapping aluminum. WD 40 on the door knob and a hand full of dimes thrown in the yard, keeps the little ones busy and they can't turn the door knob, while you knock off a piece!

Various sized wrench sockets as bushing/bearing drivers. Propane flow to find air leaks around carbs. Baking soda in water to clean batt corrosion sludge. STP for case lube. Long cord into the cab to engage a non-op choke. Big "O" ring from a 4wd hub to seal the lid of my coffee mug. Slices from rubber inner tubes for insulators/spacers/seals/gaskets. Brass cartridge case flattened and used to clean a file. Wife's bobby pin as a small cotter key. A few others - forgotten for the moment - I'm old.

Imprompto measuring tool. Didn't work out well tho. Couldn't measure a straight line, and measured short.

BRAND NEW, UNUSED toilet brush. Scissors. Use scissors to trim off the bristles on the toilet brush until small enough to fit into your thermos or insulated coffee mug. I have a few trimmed to different sizes for my various thermoses and insulated mugs. 325, I guess if you need to "redesign" something to make a tool that already exists, that would do the trick, Or one could just buy a bottle brush? https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Good-Gri...ative=165953&creativeASIN=B00004OCLJGeno PS, I'll remember your hack if I can't find a bottle brush next time I need one though.
