While pulling into a local hardware store there were a couple young men of Obama-preferred ethnicity loading a newly purchased pressure canner into their car which had out of state plates.
I went into the store and was relieved to hear an elderly woman at the checkout already discussing the transaction with the police.

I walked into a Gander Mountain earlier in the year that a groid just strolled out with a long gun he had asked to see. They had him on camera, his plate number, and I think even identification copy. They're not too bright.

Yes. The same as a pressure cooker but a little bigger. I don't know too many guys in their mid-twenties taking up canning no matter where they're from.

I asked my wife when we pulled in, "What would they possibly canning this time of year?" Veggies and camels are both out of season around here.

Sometimes when I speak around the younger co-workers I can tell that they do not understand what I was saying. I reflect on what I said and it probably had a Shakespeare line or a Biblical line.

Must be from my generation.. who in the hell DIDN'T know who Gladys Kravitz was, from across the street...

I watched re-runs of that show as a kid, but I'd never have remembered her name. I'm gonna use it though, as in "don't be such a Gladys Kravitz".
