I am thinking of picking up one of the new Leupold VX5HD 3-15X44's. I know the 1" Optilock ringmount wouldn't fit a Leupold 4-12X40 with AO,but I was wondering if the 30mm rings might work with a 44mm objective? I've never used the 30mm Optilock ringmounts.

In the Optilock Ringmounts? Last time I used them there was only one height. Thanks.I'll look into that.

It will be close but I bet the 30mm lows will work with a 44mm Obj. I have a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16X42 mounted in 30mm lows for reference.

Those are the 2 piece Optilocks, but I agree that with those lows will work.

Thanks, that helps. How do you like that 6500? I've thought several times about trying one. I like the ER and tube length on those. The short tube on the Leupold VX5HD makes me hesitant to try one on anything without a picatinny rail.

It's been a solid, dependable scope. The reticle is a bold mildot that is very usable in low light. It tracks well, holds zero and has about 4" of ER. I haven't noticed any significant tunnel vision and the glass is good. Rainguard is a bonus. It's the last MOA Mildot scope that I own though. I've become a fan of the Mil/Mil scopes over the past few years.
