Like others, I've been looking all over for Nosler 280AI brass. I was in Atlanta at the NRA annual meetings and the Nosler booth/display was the first place I visited. I asked the gentleman there what was the latest story on the brass, given that late last year Nosler had a press release of sorts saying the brass was on the way.
He rolled his eyes and told me they "have no idea when we'll ever see some". He acknowledged they were receiving many requests for the product, but could not give me the first hint at when it might be available, if ever.
Just my opinion, not a fact, but he appeared to stop just short of saying something to the effect that it's just not going to happen. He then said that the brass is outsourced, that they had no control over supply.
I don't know, but if I was a betting man I wouldn't be surprised if they just drop it from the product line in the future, possibly just concentrating on loaded ammo for that cartridge.
Sad. Boy, I'd love to be wrong about what I thought he was implying yesterday.

Did it for 25 years until Nosler teased me with the preformed product. Guess I'm back in the fireforming biz.

Seems like one of their best selling products so I would doubt they'll drop it. Fire forming is so easy I won't ever need more 280 brass. When I run out I will need a new barrel anyway. Only reason I will buy any is to have properly head stamped cases for those countries that require it.

Was at the Puyallup, WA Sportsmans Warehouse and thought I'd take a peek at brass... sure enough there was a single box on the shelf. Not anymore!

Gentlemen, Please bookmark this link. It pretty much clears up the muddy waters when it comes to the 280AI. 280AI Emperical Headspace Info

If a guy isn't in a rush, Cabela's has their Nosler brass on sale right now, and you are able to backorder the .280AI stuff. Their website says they are about a week out for shipping: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Nosler-reg-Custom-Rifle-Brass/731922.uts?searchPath=%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FcategoryId%3D734095080%26CQ_search%3Dnosler%2Bbrass

If you have to have Nosler brass just fireform from 30-06. Easy and better than using 280 brass.
