Anyone have any data or personal loads for 338 win mag & Barnes 215gr TSX bullet, using either H4350 or RL-19?

Did you mean 225 tsx or 210 tsx or the ttsx versions?
I load 225 TSX with R-19. Fed 215, WW brass and 74 gr. R-19.

I have been using 225 sierra pro hunters with Superformance and Hunter. Both of these powder get 2900 fps and good accuracy in a Tikka T-3 Lite.

The 225 TSX R-19 load works on moose.

I'm sorry yes the 210gr TSX bullets. I just picked up a no1, haven't even had a chance to shoot it yet. But I bought some bullets on here. The 210 Barnes are the only ones I can't find any data for using those powders.
And yes it looks like the 225's do a good number on moose, nice.

I've shot the 210 TTSX over 65gr of RL15 at 2,900fps from a 24" Ruger M77 (3.345"oal). I'd start at 63gr or so, and the No1 may allow a bit more boiler room as you can seat out a bit further to best accommodate the throat length.

Now with even more aplomb

Which book do you get this load from? Because I looked a Barnes data and they don't list H4350 or RL-19 for any 338 win mag loads until you get up to 250gr bullets

I went to Hodgdon site and found the listed max load of 70g of H4350 for the Nosler Partition, this worked in my rifle for the Barnes 210 ttsx.
Of course you need to work up slowly with any load, and always check for pressure and velocity problems.

I emailed Barnes a few weeks ago. Response was a PDF copy of 338 Win Data from their #3 Reloading Manual. Sounds like ok to use the XBT data but use recommended OAL for the 210 gr TTSX, which was 3.34". Listed max for H4350 and the 210 gr was 69.5 gr for velocity of 2924 fps. The Reloder 15 max was 63 gr for velocity of 2891.

Data for 225 gr XBT (not TSX):
Reloaded 19 max 72 gr for 2838 fps
H4350 max 67.5 gr for 2764 fps

would presume recommendation for using recommended COAL for TSX with that data.

And I believe the TSX Bullets will produce a lower pressure then the older style Barnes bullets.
And thanks again

No problem. Haven't loaded the 210 TTSX for the 338 yet, but plan on trying H4350 first. Would like to get around 2900 fps. If thats a no go will probably try Hunter to maybe the R15. Good luck!

I was unable to get the velocity I wanted with H4831sc, not enough room with long 225gr TTSX. Got excellent results with IMR-4451, 2850fps no problem.
