I like the Winnipeg Rye bread you can find in Dryden, Ontario, the City bread is easier to find. Paul will know what I'm talking about.

Do you buy bread, what do you like?

Morning Richard,

Yep, that's what we buy most. Makes great toast.

Other than that, we tend to buy, or make the occasional "artisan" loaf.

Paul, I have trouble posting pictures, could you show a loaf here? And, I seem to have to buy the Winnipeg at Safeway.

No good Jewish rye here instead a knock off marketed as "Authentic Delicatessen Style" that literally falls apart after two days in the bag unless toasted at which point it becomes the culinary equivalent of eating ground glass.

Richard, I have been gone from Albert City too long to know who to tell you to contact over there, but you have not had rye bread until you have had some home-made Swedish rye bread from over there. If you see a bake sale advertised by one of the churches or some group over there, it would be worth the drive to acquire some. (For a real treat, go with a buttered slice in one hand and a chunk of summer sausage in the other - alternate bites.) Best, John

Winnipeg Rye. Gunns Bakery in the North End or any of the other North End Bakery's.

So hot it can't be sliced, purchased in a brown paper bag, sliced at home served with fresh whipped butter.
