SIG SAUER Partners with Aiming for Zero to Prevent Veteran Suicide

Newington, NH (May 8, 2017) - SIG SAUER, Inc. is pleased to announce a partnership with Aiming for Zero. A charity shooting match will be held at the SIG SAUER Academy® in Epping, New Hampshire, on May 12th and 13th, 2017.

Aiming for Zero shooting events are organized by Active Heroes™, a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to reduce veteran suicide. Events are designed to allow individuals, groups or clubs to host side stages, full matches or other creative methods to raise funds for promoting suicide awareness and assisting military families in need.

According to Chris Tessier, Match Director for Aiming for Zero, shooting sports participants are passionate about giving back. "People behind the guns at competitions are patriotic, red-blooded Americans who support the sacrifices our men and women in service make," said Tessier. "If they see an opportunity to help veterans and military families while pursuing their passions, it's a no brainer. The response to Aiming for Zero has been overwhelming."

The May event at the SIG SAUER Academy will be the largest to date for Aiming for Zero and is expected to raise over $30,000. Because SIG SAUER is donating the venue, staffing, food, beverage and a wide array of prizes, including a P320® striker-fired pistol, every cent will go directly to charity.

"We are honored to partner with Aiming for Zero," said Adam Painchaud, Vice President, SIG Academy. "SIG SAUER has a long history of supporting U.S. military personnel during and after their service to our great nation. The SIG Academy is the perfect venue to host this wonderful charity and help bring awareness to veteran suicide."
