Thoughts on either one of these stocks? Looking at a medium weight 6.5 Creed for paper punching and deer. Wanting the vertical grip and thinking the Game Scout, but saw they are making a Game Hunter that looks as if it would shine with a larger obj scope.

The Game hunter has the same ass end as the McMillan hunter with the addition of the vertical grip and a slimmer forend than the Game Scout. I handled both at McMillan side by side and I like the slimmer Game Hunter much more than both the scout and warden for a hunting rifle.

On McMillan website it says the game hunter and game warden both have the same forend for a #8 barrel, the game scout says it only takes up to a #5 barrel and is slimmer. Is the website wrong?

I have the game scout on my 28 Nosler. Works great from supported positions.

I have both and favor the game hunter. Comb on the game scout is too low for a good cheekweld but fits around a smaller contour bbl nicely, I have a #3 in it I carry when walking a lot hunting pastures. The game hunter comb is much better and has a palm swell in the grip that I really like better than the scout. I have a #6 benchmark in it with room to open for a bigger bbl where the scout couldn't handle more than a #:4 or so. Both hold well but the hunter takes the cake in my book unless using a small bbl. the hunter is actually lighter with the same fill with a 700 la inlet too, doesn't look like it would be but atleast mine is.

Any chance you can take a pic of both stocks side by side? Mainly interested in the forend and if it's much wider than a gamescout or just a little.

I'll try to when I get a chance. If you're familiar with the McMillan hunter and McMillan rem hunter Think about it like this-
The game scout has the same fore end as the classic and McMillan hunter.
The game hunter and warden have about the same foreend as the rem hunter.
It's considerably bigger, I had put a factory magnum contour in a rem hunter cut to size and although I thought it was really a comfortable stock it looked out of place with a bbl that small. I'm pretty sure either mcm or stockys website has the exact specs and dimensions of both stocks listed.

Thanks. McMillan doesn't have specs up yet for the game hunter or warden but I assumed the forend was like a Rem hunter. Do you think a #4 brux would look ok in the game hunter?

Sorry I forgot to take a picture today. It would be a little small but if you like the stock fit and sizes better I'd say go for it anyway. I really liked the scout but like the hunter a lot more. The palm swell and higher comb make a huge difference to me, I can't bring myself to use the ugly kydex cheek rests
