I was feeling pretty good about the $499 price tag on my recently purchased R1 1911 untill I got an email flyer this morning announcing that Remington is offering a $100 rebate on the R1 for the next six weeks starting today....
A day late and a dollar short......I'm telling ya...that's my life's story...

Anyway.....for anyone interested in a solid mil-spec 1911, Grab-A-Gun has the R1 on sale for $499 ($399 after rebate)+ $7 shipping.
That's a lot of gun for four hundred bucks.

PS.....if you buy one please don't rub it in.... frown

FieldGrade: I have been THERE and done that on rebates and etc!
I hope you can finagle a "re-do" on that rebate.
For $399.00 that pistol is a great buy.
Thanks for the heads up.

I probably bought em for about that price because of the bulk purchase, but, still would have liked to have had a little bargaining wiggle room. grin

Yes.....I read at least a hundred reviews and couldn't find one single complaint.

Rebate does not appear on the Remington website. Do I have to sigh up for their updates/newsletter?

Thanks. Went back to the Remington site and the details do appear if you click on Rebates and Promotions, "download complete details"

Sure looks like it. I had to look hard enough to find the rebate on the Remington site that the start date surprised me. Sorry you missed that deal.

Awright, awright. I READ the post. It just was slow percolating into my under-coffeed brain.

I should have written May 15 start, July 30 end date.

Great deal and I keep going back for a 2nd look, especially since I have never owned a 1911. However, unlike the reviews that you read I did not have any trouble reading negative reviews .

Well....FWIW......Mine runs perfectly and no problems with the magazines with ball or hp ammo.
That's just a sample of one though sooooo.

Get the last laugh.

Return the $499 one, and then buy a $399 one.

F'k em.

Return a gun for no good reason......clearly you've never bought a gun on-line.

It's not a faulty gun and it dam sure isn't the vendors fault...just poor timing.

Besides....Grabagun gave me excellent friendly service at a great price....why would I want to see them get stuck with a used gun they have to try and resell?
