I haven't tried n-570 in my .300 WM. I think it may be a tad slow for that round; n-560 may be a better choice. N-560 is pretty close to RL-22/MRP, both excellent .300 WM powder choices.

N-570 is probably marginal in the 7RM even with heavy bullets, but worth a try.

I'm currently working up 26 Nosler loads; n-570 seems to have promise in that round. It's a top performer according to Q.L. It's faster than the classic 26 Nos powder, US-869, but high energy and a good performer. I think it may out perform 869 in the 26.

Thanks for the link,

I was hoping 570 would work for the heavier 200 class bullets in the 300. I just have to do some test to see what happens with that.

I did load some in the 7mm RM, 175 GK's , it produced 3,030 mv and moa. That can be tweaked.

Wanted to try some 7mm 180 ELD-m but the bullet seems a little long for my CLR, it seems to have a shorter throat for that long bullet.

It may, just don't have info or data on that.

N-570 is top powder in several Q.L. print outs.

I would like to see Q.L. data for the .300 WM with 200's.

I have not used N-570 yet but I have tested N-560 in both 7mm Remington Magnum and 300 Winchster Magnum. You can read about my results in the topic on Lapua Naturalis bullets.

Omid,

Does anyone have info about Vv- 500 series temp stabilbity, especially n-560 and n-570?

Sometimes high performance, double based powders don't have the best temp profiles.

The new generation of powders makes for a hightly competitive market.

Vihtavuori powder is expensive, but may be worth the premium if performance justifies the cost.

This is a piece of information that I like to know too. I live in southern California and there is not much temperature variation here. I like to know what will happen if I load something here and then shoot it in a cold snowy climate.. In some calibers, I have noticed that a particular load +- 1 grain shoot very good groups. In this case, it could be wise to choose the high side of the load so in cold climate the load still performs as if there 1 or 2 grains less powder and still will shoot well. I have not put this "theory" to test though..

Going back to the topic of loading N-570 in 7mm Mag, I did load a series of loads in 7mm Mag using Norma 217 which is very slow burning powder in the same "class" as N570. The results are shown in the plot below. I believe these N217 loads that I tested potentially exceed the safe pressure margins so I do not recommend using them. I intend to test Norma 217 again but with a few grain less charge..

I did a bunch of testing with a couple different 300WM's and many different powders a few years ago, did not try N570 but did try N170. probably better suited for a 300Ultra. The standout in my rifles from 200-220 grain bullets is H1000

Good info.

What's your take on 200's vs. 220's in the .300WM?

H1000's gotta be one of the most temp resistant powders in that burn rate class.

Would you mind sharing H1000 load data for 200 and 220's? I'm going to try both in my 300WM.
