Well, we set a precedent last year so I guess we have to honor it. Yeah, go ahead Keith. This is all in fun, and I suspect a guy who comes in a close second will be secure in the knowledge that he turned in the best score fired with a real Savage! grin Besides, who knows- someone with an old M1919 might slop five into 1/4" and walk away with a win.

Remember, guys, this isn't about winning at all costs or setting a new world record. It's about camaraderie and having fun and opening up new topics of conversation here. Not to mention getting ourselves up off our butts and out to the range. But, like I said, if this turns into a cutthroat arms race I'm outta here!

Gary, I'll shoot the model 7 in the 22. I'll shoot the Savage/Anschutz at 100 just for fun. I have to go shoot both the 1907s to see how they do and decide which one to use.

Suggestion, Keith: use them both, one in each hand, five rounds in each gun. Betcha you could beat the 7 second rule handily.

I would pay to watch!

Can you repost the rules? If Roy gets to enter his Levermatic then I'm going in with my 1922 Springfield!

Was it made by Savage? Mayhaps you could send it to me for verification, which might take a while!

1922 Springfield: created to fill a need for quality high end .22 target rifles which Savage 1919's, Stevens 44/44 1/2's, and Winchester Winders were struggling to fill. Winchester 52's and later Remington 37's put them all to rest later on. Still in all, if i had to surrender all .22 target rifles and keep but one, it would be the M1922 M2 Springfield, a man's gun.

Yeah, there has to be a Marlin Collectors forum out there somewhere. Perhaps they too have a suave and debonair chap who is willing to set up a postal match to include Levermatics. grin
