My buddy is selling his "as new in box" Weatherby. This is one of the special Weatherby rifles that is proven at the factory to shoot under 1 moa. In fact, this gun came with a target, from the factory, certifying a .7 moa group, and this was with factory ammo. Imagine what could be improved with some good hand loads!

Its a 300 wby mag. Sadly my buddy just had twins.

If you know anyone looking for a sweet rifle, this one is a beauty. Its unfired except for the factory test.

See link and pass it on please if you know somebody who would be interested!

These are the best vanguards IMHO...their only weakness is the triggers can be hit and miss. The good news is anyone that can use a phillips head screwdriver can change out the trigger and replace with a timney in less then 3 minutes.

Not to be a kill joy but never thought of factory supplied targets as a certification of accuracy. Many have not been able to replicate the same without much work. That said I sure hope it sold for much more than 420. My Kimber has a moa guarantee and many on this site would be there to question that guarantee and they never handled one. Just saying.

So, does it shoot moa?

I agree.
Factory targets are in my mind often questionable.

You should re-read that. It says "sub MOA accuracy standard". If you click the link and read the fine print is says "designed to be", not "guaranteed to be" regarding the accuracy capability. Sometimes we hear what we want to hear rather than what was actually said. Surprise! Not in a good way, though. frown

I have one of the cheaper ones in 300 wby I bought used. Always a good one to buy used as most people can't afford to shoot the barrel out. It now has a rifle basix trigger and brown stock, very slick for the money.

I have a Vanguard deluxe in 300 wby that easily shoots submoa with Weatherby Factory 180 grain cheap ammo. Even the trigger is not 1/2 bad on this one breaks cleanly at 4lbs .

Dang, you're right, I might have to try some of that. It's been a while since I bought any factory Weatherby. FWIW, my Vanguard .300 Wby. shoots really well too.
