As always, this thread has talked partitions, but everyone who has posted so far
keeps forgetting the good old Nosler 220 grain SMP Partition. Running 2650 to 2750 out of an
'06 with a stiff charge of H4831SC, its more than flat shooting enough to 300 yds plus.

and that high sectional density, it sure loves to penetrate thru all sorts of stuff.

Jeff O would accuse it of overpenetrating... whistle

and in the 270, I love its twin... the 160 grain SMP Partition @ 2900 fps.
4831SC once again to launch it out of the barrel.

Those two Partition bullets are my favourites. I use the 160's in my 270 Win and have used the 220's in a 30-06 and 308 Norma Magnum. The best I could get in the 30-06 was 2550 fps with RL 22, I needed the 308 Norma to get the speeds you are listing. I plan on getting a 300 WSM and the 220 gr Partition will be one of the bullets I'll use. Both of them are real hammers on bigger animals...........

I'm running 62.0 grains of R-22 with a 180 Nosler Partition. I made the same load for experimenting with a 180 Hornady BTSP and expect same or better accuracy.
