For those who are trying to figure out a good way to scout out areas you are unfamiliar with, some of you may be familiar with the Colorado Hunting Atlas (online) . I discovered though, you can use that tool to look research anywhere in the US. Colorado is highlighted and has all the Colorado data overlays, but all the aerial and topo views are available for everywhere. You can share maps with a link, print maps, you can draw and measure on the map. Pretty handy little tool. http://ndismaps.nrel.colostate.edu/index.html?app=HuntingAtlas

I like Caltopo. You can add any number of overlays, including fire history for last 20 years

Thanks for sharing that. I use that Atlas for Colorado but I didn't realize that it could be useful for other states. I guess that's the purpose of this forum, hunters helping fellow hunters. :-)

Colorado is full and unable to accommodate additional hunters, pot smokers, and urban cowboys, please look elsewhere.
