I don't know as much as I should as I only own one model 99. But I though someone here might want to see it. I just came across it while scrolling through Cabelas Gun Library Antique Rifle section.
It's listed as a Savage 1895 30-30 one of 6,000 made claimed . Billings ,Montana Store Reference # 5034201 .

The gun they referenced isn't a 1895. They state that, but it is an 1899.
When describing Savages in a sale ad, you will often see unintended errors. In a few small cases, intended.
