I've been working on this project for a while, I did all of the work myself with the exception of the bluing and the stock painting. Glenrock handled the bluing and Brandon at Custom Gun Finishes painted the stock-- can't say enough positive things about both of them. Specs are: 700 action trued and double-sleeved by Gre-Tan Proof Research 6.5 bull barrel Greyboe A5-style stock (I had to mill the stock to work with this barrel profile and bottom metal) Seekins DBM bottom metal Timney Calvin Elite trigger Seekins 34mm rings Initial accuracy testing is encouraging: can't find anything that it won't shoot under 1/2 MOA, and plenty of loads in the 0.30" neighborhood. Hopefully with some tweaking I can do even better.

That is bad ass! What bullets are you trying so far? 123gr. Scenars and 130gr. Bergers so far, going to try some 139gr. Scenars this weekend. Looks like you are set for some fun. What is the weight? Good shooter, it and you. Not sure on the weight, I'll put it on the scale and let you know. Appreciate the kind words.

Very cool build. 6.5x47 is my favorite cartridge right now. Have found nothing easier to get tiny groups from. Looks like you're using a Magpul magazine. Love those too. Mine feed like butter. I'd be surprised if your best loads don't fall somewhere around 38gr Varget behind 130s or 40.4gr H4350 behind 140s. 7828ssc is showing much promise too, doing well for me with both 140s and 147s.

Appreciate the load data guys, I will compare that to what I've tried so far. Shot a bit yesterday afternoon, good news is that it shot well with Lapua factory 139gr. Bad news is that I outshot it with a 5-pound Kimber.

It's just a .308 Montana, I adjusted the trigger and bedded the lug and that's it. Waiting for the VX-6HD to show up so I mounted my 16x for load testing. Federal' 175gr. TLR shot .030" at 100 which is the group pictured above.

Your rifle looks to be built for PRS/NRL style matches; correct? 139 S, 140 VLD or HY, 142 MK, 140 ELD-m, etc all run great with Varget/IMR 4166, H4350/IMR 4451.

Alan Yes, my thoughts were that I'd build a gun for long range steel and would have something ready to go if I found the time to shoot a few PRS matches.
