Well since h4350 is non existent, I'm looking for a alternative. Found some rel 16 and according to Alliants site the numbers look good. Wondering if anyone has tried it in the 260 Remington or in the 30-06. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There's a thread on using Re16 in the 30-06. It is my go to powder in the 30-06. 56 gr under a 180 partition gives me 2800 and MOA.

It works great in my 30-06 with 180 Accubonds. I get about 2720 from mine, but it seems pretty good. I have 165 Accbonds loaded with 16 as well, just haven't shot them yet. I also have some 16 loaded in my 6.5 Swede with 140 Accubonds, but haven't had a chance to shoot them yet either. From initial looks, it is a good alternative to H4350. It works super in my 270 Win with 130's.

In my .260, Rel 16 is a bit faster burning than H4350. Running 130 gr Sierras & Accubonds, 42 grs Rel 16 gets me to 2,800 fps while I need to up the H4350 to 44 grs to reach the same velocity. Accuracy with Rel 16 is just as good. Haven't tried it in my .30-06, IMR 4451 gets me all of the velocity & accuracy I need.

Tried 56gn of R16 with 180 Partitions in a Springfield with a 22" barrel and got 2700 fps. Also tried 59 gn with 168 TTSX in a SAKO Finnlight with a 20 3/8" bbl and got 2890 fps. 54 gn with 200 gn Partitions in the 20 3/8" bbl gave 2555 fps. Accuracy with all of the above was sub-MOA. I don't need any other powder for the '06, though 4451, H4350 and Hunter also work very well.
Cheers, Walt

I've had good results with RL16 in the 6.5 CM, .270 and .30-06. I initially tried the other two because it was working so well in the Creedmoor. These were shot as the last part of an OCW workup. Velocity is Right at 2,750 fps out of my 22" barrel. I chrono'd loads all the way up to 56.5gr, and velocities were in the 2,870's, but I went for best accuracy with still decent velocities. I'd say it's about as good as H4360 in the '06, high praise as far as I'm concerned.

57gr of RL-16 gets me 2915 fps and well under MOA accuracy(3 shots @ 100 yds) with 165gr Accubonds in my 30.06. 57.5gr gets me 2940 fps but groups open up to MOA. H4350 was my "go to" powder for this rifle, but it isn't any longer. Tired of waiting for nonexistent H4350 to show up. RL-16 is proving to be just as accurate but with more velocity than H4350. What's not to like?
