Manners stocks are an abomination?
PF cut rifles barrels are an abomination? (would you prefer a Douglas?) like Melvin uses, not me!
Ti action is an abomination?
Mini bolt knob is an abomination?
Trippled pinned and timed an abomination?

Regardless of price, these are all quality parts. Some serious thought went into building this from people that hunt.
AND, they picked the right cartridge, 6.5 CM. not going with their own 260 Rem was the right move.

Good for Remington, there is most diffidently a market for these rifles.

Blue Chip parts are here for even the most discriminant hunter.

Yeah, I'll happily take the Douglas barrel if Melvin is screwing it onto one of his actions and handles.

I can't afford one either SU...so we can agree on that part at least I suppose.

There are a whole bunch of KUIU cultists that are going to "crush it" with this rifle.
And probably many that are upgrading their KUIU uniforms so their ensembles will match their new rifle.

In all sincerity, that's a pretty fine list of components.
Alas, the same can be had for less AND without KUIU inscribed on it.

If I had a sheep tag I'd carry an extra 1.5lb and be happier when I'm in the aim, breathing hard and shaking with excitement.
I have a mk1 M700ti in an Edge, love it. Really don't like this.

I would drag my balls through a mile of broken glass before I paid them $6000 for that, with all the custom smiths available..

I agree, if I had the coin I'd be on the phone with Jon Beanland and have him build me a clone of this rifle, kinda like the overall specs. But if you do a quick look at the parts its a bunch of money, not $5800 but plenty. I'm not sure of some of the parts but a quick overview:

Ti action $1500ish
Manners EH stock $700ish
Proof barrel $900ish
Trigger $150ish
Pinned lug $75
Chamber barrel $300ish
Pillar bed $250ish
Cerakote $250ish
Camo paint $150-$250ish
Bottom metal $200

So that gets me to roughly $4600 +/- in parts, suppose if you looked around you could get some stuff cheaper but I think I'm in the ballpark. So not sure how they get to $5800+ unless its the awesomeness of the Kuiu engraved bottom metal

Well I don't expect them to give it to us at cost.

They have families to raise and hunts to go on just like we do.

I applaud Remington for going outside the box for parts, a step in the right direction.

Still a 5.6# short action. You could ducttape 2 beers to a Kimber Montana and still be carrying less weight.

The last few current production Remington's I was unfortunate enough to buy left a lot to be desired. Had a model 7 that couldn't break a primer, and another with non-concentric barrel threading... hello baffle strike

I'm done with them no matter how much they polish them... everything owned by freedom arms group are still turds in my book.

Per manufacture, Kimber failures are far higher than Remington, not even close.

700 Ti actions have been Remington's most accurate.

I've had some great Remington's a beautiful 700BDL in 458 win mag and a few others. And I'd love a clean original 600 with a vent rib in 308. But when they started with the J-lock in the early 2000's I think they started going downhill.

Reguardless, you could buy 5 Kimbers for the price of that Remington and even if you subscribe to the "Kimber roulette" theory you are bound to win with at least 3 of them... and you would still have a lighter gun with a longer barrel and better ballistics in that 6.5 that needs inches in the barrel to shine. Personally I've bought 3 "junk kimbers" and usually the only problem was the amateur gunsmithing by the previous owner... my 2 Freedom Arms Group era Remington's have been junk, they've ruined Bushmaster, Marlin, AAC and other respected companies with good reputations, I'm not hating on Remington, I'm hating on what their parent company has done to their products. It's like blaming "Winchester" for something built by US repeating arms in their final month before bankruptcy. I have the end of a barrel of a '92 in 32 win special where the front sight screw hole/screw went into the barrel, first test shot at the factory buldged it and they still shipped it. It's not an isolated issue.


When it comes down to it it's all built by men who work for companies who can succumb to market pressures. Remington's parent company right now is killing their QC I applaud them for putting together the high end components but if the same guys with the same machines and the same deadlines are screwing them together I'm going to pass with my mone.... if they come from GAP, Hill Country Rifles, Jon Beanland, or some other known custom/semi custom maker I'll reconsider my position.

You guys just don't understand the value that KUIU brings to the rifle world.
