I'm having a t/o barrel put on a Mauser action and after cutting off the old threads and re-threading I now have no shank. Thoughts and or pictures of a build or other rifle w/no shank on the barrel. powdr

remington doesnt use a shank on their rifles barrels...should look close to that i would think

I had the shanks turned down to minimum specs to save weight on three of my custom rifles. The only drawback is the barrel can't be set back and rechambered. E

No Steelhead, not a Winchester man. Even the picture of the barrel above looks like it has a one inch shank. Just never really paid much attention to it until I had to cut this one back and rethread. I'll stop worrying about it. powdr
