Rick is expanding the max file size here, but the site will still own the picture...PB gave free image hosting hoping people used it, then force you to pay up...that's why the free site bombs you with advertising, they've made their money already and don't care if people bail.

Thus why I've always said we should have member photo albums here, even at a minimal charge.

Another issue, or feature that could be useful, would be the ability to scale the display size so pics don't dominate the screen and make threads cumbersome to scroll through. A max limit at a minimum. I know that on some other forums an uploaded image will be displayed at a smaller size, then if clicked will display full size. That workaround I posted for displaying the linked image works, but it's a little tedious.

He means from the net, not from your computer.

Actually, both.

If you use the "Full Editor" option under the reply box, you will find the attachment manager. There you can upload images.

Then, make sure the URL you are posting has https instead of http. Put it between image tags [img] and [/img], and you should be good to go.

The key to the secure page lock is that the URL is https and not http. Gotta have https.

Yep, pull your pictures if they have value and download to your computer...then delete pictures from PB, and dump the account..... If not they can display your pictures on their site, at their discretion.

That's the smart play if you're not going to upgrade, take the pics before they can use them...I'm not paying $399 for a fkn image host my computer will do for free.

For those not computer savy, if you want extra hard drive space without slowing your older computer down...add an external drive(plug & play)and only put pictures on it. Then copy/paste/drag & drop/etc. to post pictures here and elsewhere. Simple to access, simple to add more pictures, low cost for extra space....many ways to do it really.

never mind I just figured it out, when you select pics, you then get the delete option, but you have to select them first

I have a 2T external drive I haven't even used yet, but that will not help with posting personal pics. They still need an address, and they get that when posted.

No, saved as jpg files, then dropped in your image manager(or hopefully member album)...you're good to go. You don't want to link to pics if possible, because someone "owns" them other than you smile

There's something going on with them.

Many people have had their photo's disabled.

My guess is that it just take photobucket awhile to get around to everyone... Sooner or later...

They got me an hour ago. phugum'

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

To delete quicker than doing it one pic at a time, highlight the folder your pics are in, then look to the right and down on the Photobucket page. There should be a menu that includes "delete" to erase the entire folder. If all your pics are in your "bucket", you'll need to drag and drop them into a new folder, then delete that folder.
