The beautiful 24 year old daughter of our friends was sexually assualted and murdered this weekend.
They have the perp in custody already, he was picked up for DWI and had blood on him and her wallet was in his car.
I'm a faith based, god fearing man but sometimes you wonder what is the lesson in this senseless tragedy?

It's cases like these where I fully believe the father of that girl should have the authority to deal with that MF'er in any manor he sees fit. (Upon the perp being tried and found guilty)
Do it today. Tomorrow there may be a law against it.

So sorry to hear about your friend's loss. Somethings just never seem fair, and we just never get a grasp on why things happen. I lost a girlfriend when I was 16 to a drunken driver. It was a tragic loss. Unfortunately, when it's time to meet your maker, it never makes sense. My prayers go out to you and your friends.

Powerguy, Sorry about this incident. It is terrible, and this side of Heaven, we may never know what the lesson is. Maybe the perp is supposed to learn something, and I'm not trying to be smart -- I don't know! I've heard stories of criminals coming to faith in Christ as a result of things like this. One can only hope, and believe that Romans 8:28 is true, that all things DO work together for good to them that love God . . . . . but it doesn't make it any easier to swallow. Prayers for the family and friends of the young lady, and even for the accused. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

As a Christian, I will be pray for her family and friends, it makes my heart sick. As a cop... I will say thank god he has been captured and hope he is successfully prosecuted so that he can not hurt anyone else. As a father... I will say that I would probably find a way to kill him and take my chances with a jury and hell.

Jesus taught us to forgive. How can someone have foregivness, for an animal like that? He ripped her life from the hearts of her family! He must be made to suffer an insurmountable loss as well. There should be no mercy given to him at anytime.
I look at my little girl and can't even begin to imagine the pain they are feeling. No parent should bury their child.
I'm going to finish by saying, I pray their hearts are lightened with grief and they hold her memories with comfort of knowing her.

I am so sorry! As the mother of two girls in their 20s, this hits close to home. As Barkoff said, it is every parent's worst nightmare.
God didn't bring evil into the world... man brought that on himself. But God can and does take evil and make good out of it. I know that is "cheap consolation" to your friend and his family right now. I will keep everyone concerned in my prayers, that God would ease their burden, wipe their tears, and bring them some peace and comfort.

I refrain from Posting my thoughts,because that recourse would cause Rick to lose his Board.
