...for a week at grandparents. Got a lot of bushhogging done, fence mended, and worked horses this evening after work. They need to hurry back, I gotta get some rest. Not sure what to do about supper. I guess I'll eat a couple of beers.

Sounds like time for jen-u-wein bachelor gourmet cooking. You'll need egg noodles, marinara sauce, and some sausage. Cook up the sausage, mix it with the marinara, and then mix it up with the pasta. It's best enjoyed after three beers, and pairs best with another three beers. Beer makes a good dessert.

Nothing like barbecuing a steak and a few potatoes with a few beers.

JCMCUBIC: Fried Spam with lettuce and tomato sandwiches and beer are one of my favorite "temporary bachelor" meals. Quick, easy, tasty and refreshing - I try not to do more than 10 of these meals per year for health reasons though. Enjoy the quiet time. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

One of my favorite "temporary bachelor" meals is fried SPAM with scrambled eggs and cheese and salsa. My Wife and kids are highly offended by the very idea of eating SPAM and have a gag reflex reaction when vienna sausages or potted meat product are spoken of.

Spam turned 80 years old today! Spam Is Turning 80. Here's How the Canned Meat Took Over the World Olivia B. Waxman 10:00 AM ET
Before "spam" was a word that represented unwanted emails, it was a word that represented the successful repackaging of unwanted meats.
Spam — the square can of pork, salt, water, sugar, potato starch and sodium nitrite that first rolled off the assembly lines 80 years ago during the Great Depression — was invented "as a way to peddle the then-unprofitable pork shoulder," according to The Oxford Encyclopedia of Food and Drink in America. It was the invention of Jay Hormel, son of George Hormel who founded the Hormel company, which pioneered canned pork products in Austin, Minn., in the late 1920s.
According to the company's Spam Museum, Ken Digneau, the brother of a Hormel executive, came up with the name — a portmanteau word for "spiced ham" — in a naming contest and got $100 as a reward. The new product was introduced on July 5, 1937.

I was a t big stock show years ago and they had a concoction there they called "Lamb Spam"... Yep. Made from sheep... That was some nasty crap. Had to get more crackers and a beer to wash that taste down... Guess it didn't take off too well...

Steak, lots, still kickin'. Maybe a baked potato, beer. Pork steak, breaded and fried, beer. Pork steak, on grill, my bbq sauce, beer. Beer is my attempt to include grains and vegetables in the diet.
