... and an opening for the haters. Have you ever stood a ways away and looked at the "SILVERADO" on the side? Always looks to me like it says "SILVERROO". Makes me feel Australian.

I can't get past the "round peg in a square hole" tire/fender well issue. grin

People can say what they want, and they will. I'm a Silverado guy. I bought an 89, drove it for 10 years and never had any trouble with it. Great truck. Traded it for a 99 and did the same thing. 10 years later, I bought a 2009 that has also been a great truck and trouble free. I'll be getting a new one in 2019. Probably wont get Victory red next time just because the last 2 were and I don't want to seem predictable. Might go with the 3/4 ton this time. I firmly believe that if you take care of your stuff it will last. These trucks have been an example of that. Like Amiri King says, "I drive a Silveraydo!"

It basically forces a 'lift' to upsize tires.

Love my 2015. The only complaint I have is the paint chips way easier than it should.

I have an 02 Silverado in near mint, factory original condition, with 130k miles. I've had it for years, and it has been a turd. I've replaced cracked heads, the front differential, the transfer case, etc. It has been stored inside and always babied and kept clean. This has at least kept the body from rusting off it.

I'd love to get rid of it, but can't figure a good way to do it. I have a good friend who insists on buying the truck if I ever get rid of it, but I wouldn't do that to him.

If I sold it to him, he'd be mad. If I sold it to someone else, he'd be mad. I guess it'll just sit in the basement and get driven on occasion.

I finally bought a Tacoma to actually use as a truck.

I had a new 2005. Huge money pit, rust, bad transfer case, bad brake lines, and did I say rust? I had to trade it in at 95000 miles. Babied it's whole life, and never returned the favor. I probably had more shop time with that truck than 6 of my other vehicles combined.

Rust? I thought it had an aluminum body?

I've owned 5 silverado's, two suburbans and a tahoe (still have the 2008 Suburban). The Suburban and the last two pickups have been real duds, just nickle and dime me to death after about 75k miles. One small pita after another. . . . Tundra in the driveway now and I'm never going back.

Gave my 01 Silverado to a grandson last fall and got myself a new genuine aluminum bodied F150 with a little turbocharged engine. No complaints, and way better milage than I've ever seen from a pickup. Missing the 8' box.

If my 05 TD would break or cost money above and beyond the usual TD, I'd sell it 'cause I don't really need it. But it's doing just fine.......

My 2017 with the 6. 2 engine has averaged 19.2 mpg now. It only has 4500 miles so I think it could even do better. Plenty happy with that mileage. Ed k. P.S. I drive it like I stole it.
