Sadly, the reason these clowns do this stuff is because they can get away with it. Getting local law enforcement agencies 'involved' is one thing, getting actual charges is another when the bad guy lives in one state and you live in another. Local L.E. may try to resolve the issue the best they can with some phone calls and door knocks. Maybe you can get the local L.E. to make the guy into a hobby, but prosecuting fraud cases is tough when distant jurisdictions are involved. Chances are local prosecutors are swamped with 'gotta do' local cases and they have a very big say on what cases are going to go beyond woofing at him and actually calling his bluff.
Good luck on getting postal authorities involved or other federal agencies on interstate cases. My professional experience has been that the Feds often have minimum amount thresholds of tens of thousands of dollars on fraud cases.
Good news is that eventually these guys go down. You might get hosed on a bad deal, but life will catch up with them. It has been my observation that these types that can sleep at night after screwing people all wake up one morning in a [bleep] life and no way out.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night because rough men stand at the ready to do violence on their behalf.

MWN. I understand all that you said. My goal is to eliminate him from the Campfire and make life for him uncomfortable for as long as I can.

It is only fitting that since he used a computer to steal that a computer can be used to as you say reba34915,"make life for him uncomfortable for as long as I can". Assuming we have a physical address in Stuart a Google search will give you the names and addresses of his neighbors. Prepare a letter with the details of the people that he has stolen from. Contact him via email or letter and let him know that with a remote possibility that he has fallen on ill health or some other malise that you feel that those living close to him should know about this should they want to offer assistance. On the other hand his neighbors should be warned that a thief is among them in order to better secure their property. I`d give him a reasonable amount of time to respond before mailing the letters. Through a faceless machine these thieves pay no consequences. A bit different when the guy next door and across the street knows what you are up to.

Did anyone who got scammed actually get his address? When I google his info, it comes back to a house at 5 Middle Rd, valued over $600,000. That doesn't strike me as a guy who would scam people out of a few hundred bucks.
Google is scary thing these days. Just put in name and city and there are voter registration websites that provide all kinds of info and people who it thinks you are related to.

I'd like to see the post where Fireball2 posted this kind of personal information about ANYBODY, AT ANY TIME. What a bunch of fuqutards. It took 2 minutes on google to find that public information. [bleep]-Tard.

He was still alive last Friday. He sent me a text full of BS. He acknowledged that he received payment a month ago today. Still no gun or tracking info.

I'd encourage folks to use the phone number mentioned earlier to text some "words of encouragement".

I am happy to report that I received a second box today containing the rest of my items. All I can say is that Billy would have saved himself a lot of grief had he just communicated and provided tracking numbers. I hope that texasaggie09 gets his items as well.

He ended up sending me a refund because the NIB rifle had no end label on the box (it was a collector type rifle so that was important). I guess it took 6 weeks to figure that putt. The refund should be in my hands tomorrow. Hopefully the payment is good!
