I assume someone here has done it - curious as to how much meat is left on the bone alongside the barrel.

I wouldn't want to go any bigger in a classic than the Hart 5 contour I have in two of them. I'm not sure it's even possible with a varmint contour

I love the Classic. My favorite hunting pattern.
Don't do a varmint barrel. Trust.

Thanks guys. Have one in a Sporter and figured I'd be pushing my luck with this one.

Hey Rick. How come your list in the Outfitters Gear Shop does not include a McMillan Game Hunter stock on the list? I'm wanting one in a Arctic Camo. Is it an oversight? Also if it is possible will they handle a 1.25" diameter barrel?

I assume someone here has done it - curious as to how much meat is left on the bone alongside the barrel. I've done a couple...... There's still a little " flat" left on the top side. While Mcm states a #5 as max, I've seen more than one on their site inletted for a Varmint. I'd still lean HTG if going to a Varmint contour.....

It's doable and as Aalf stated there is still a little flat left on top. I'd not want anymore barrel in that channel. If you don't get silly with extra barrel length it's a nice feel in the hand.

hangunnr,
Thank you. The setup you have pictured is exactly what I'm envisioning with just a little less barrel - 20". (.223)

Need to borrow a Dremel, or barrel bedding tools?
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

LOL. Was actually hoping you'd offer to do it. I'll be ordering a stock for this one.
