Is this a direct fit to replace a factory BDL bottom metal or would the factory stock need to be modified to accept this?

It was almost a drop in on my McMillan stock but required a minor milling to correct fit. I'll try it on the wood stock tonight.

first time dealing with DBM, you said that its .223, I'm to assume that the mags wont work for .308. do you know if the metal will. I'll go check them out to after this.

Correct 223 only.
You are correct. I found the paperwork, its Wyatt's not Williams.
Should be asking a lot more for this too.
