I 've come into possession of a Nikon Pro-staff shotgun scope (75 yard parallax). I' m considering mounting it on old Winchester Model 190. Has anyone tried this scope on a rimfire? Opinions?

The Nikon 2-7x32 ProStaff shotgun scopes work fine on everything that I've put them on. Your bigger challenge will be getting a decent trigger pull from your Winchester 190. I like mounting scopes on my grooved rimfire rifles using the B-square 3/8" dovetail to Weaver adapters.

I've had one on my .22 magnum for years. Have killed a couple truckloads of squirrels and woodchucks with it. Works great. No complaints.

Got a similar Bushnell on a .22. As long as the center of the reticle is fine enough, you should be good.

Another satisfied user of said scope on a Savage 22 LR. It's my main squirrel gun.

I've got one on my Mossberg 695 Slug gun and have been very satisfied. I'm sure it would be great on anything else as well. -Jake

I like the Burris aluminum .22rf rings. Have used steel version in the past w good results.

Haven't seen any new ones, but the Tasco rings on my 581 look good and have friction tape inside to prevent slipping and protect the scope. The glossy finish matches blued steel well too. Might not use them on a Cooper or Annie, but cheap and good. Had WD40 (applied with a rag) creep under a set of Weavers once. You could turn the old steel-tube K2.5 with your fingers.

The set up should work just fine. I've used shotgun scopes on various .22's and never had a problem.

It should work just fine for your needs. The 5 inches of eye relief may be a benefit when mounting the scope. You can still utilize Nikon's Spot On Ballistic Program to dial in your rifle, scope and ammo. Drop me a note if you have any question's.
