Does anyone know if the bottom "metal" on the new featherweight compacts is plastic/polymer? I picked up a used stock online and bottom metal and was surprised that trigger guard and frame were not metal, only floorplate was.

From the Winchester website description of the M70 FWT Compact:
"ALLOY ONE-PIECE BOTTOM METAL adds rigidity for better accuracy"

Hmmm, alloy would imply metal - doesn't seem like it.

I checked it again - I think it is metal. Sounds like it , but doesn't seem to have to cool feeling of steel.
