Friend needs a sporter weight barrel for a Rem BDL. Current barrel is 45 years old(+/-) in 6mm Rem and is heavily worn.. Let me know what you have
that could be used with a short action. (243, 257R, 6mm rem, etc) He likes to shoot varmints and deer. We would not like to replace an old shot out barrel with another old shot out barrel. Let us know the date code.

You can buy 243 barrels cheap on Ebay. Good luck on 6mm or 257.

I prefer classic.

I will talk to the fellow. I think he is pretty invested in a 6mmRem. (has brass, dies, and a long history). may have to go after market route (ershaw or Apache)

Try one of the new barell nuted remington bbls they are super easy and can be installed by the user. I like mine a lot . A 30 06 aI on an old 722 action and a old 40 x stock. You can get one of your cal choice on Ebay.
