Not a flame, I am curious. I have a buddy who just had one built with a integrated suppressor. Neat little AR, quiet and pretty accurate. What is the real use for the .300 BO? It would seem to be a bit under powered for hunting?

Have killed plenty of deer with mine. So far no crips or lost deer. Farthest shot was 150 yids. Most under 50. I use both subs and supers and always suppressed.

I think a nice lightweight rifle would be a great deer rifle for youth etc.
There is a large giggle factor with suppressed subsonic rounds too.
As far as martial use, I don't see it gaining as an entry weapon, although I would not hesitate to use mine for a zombie horde.

What is the real use for the .300 BO? It's a niche cartridge, suitable for use in suppressors and SBR's. More of a "fun gun" than anything. Supersonic, its nothing special.

Are you using a traditional heart/lung shot or neck shots?

I use it only for heart lung shots so far, so the tracking dog always has some fun.
They rarely run far.
Only use suppressed with subs, 194 lehigh around 950 fps. Longest shot has been about 200 or just under. Its better accuracy wise around 100-125 though. Yards.
If I ever were to run super, I'd just go x39 and done with it. A nephew has an X 39 and its solidly moa with 125 ballistic tips.
That said I"ve used a buddies 300/221 super sonic suppressed with barnes whatever they are 110 or 115 on pigs a few times and it kills, though everyone has run as far as they have with the sub rounds I use.
Wish it was a bit more accurate for the 200 yard shots. Factory Rem 700... no need for action noise on a suppressed gun IMHO.
OTOH I have been working on an upper for a can, just for trailing deer with the dog. Don't like shooting loud rounds without him having ears on... and its hard to put his muffs on on short notice. The 10mm is pretty loud...so a short AR wtih a can but super sonic so I don't have to worry about drop so much, may get the call soon for trailing.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

Underpower for hunting..? SHHH!!! Don't tell the deer. Both taken with 125 Nosler BT handloads.

Ive killed two nice 8pt Whitetails with my Ruger American using a 110gr Sierra HP. One at a hair over 100yd, and one at about 60yd. Both on the ground in under 25yds with traditional heart/lung shots.
