Considering an aftermarket trigger for a new Remington 700. Any general opinions or comments based on experience with Rifle Basix triggers ?

I have a couple. I found them easy to adjust, I've had no malfunctions and their customer service was good. I had an issue with the safety pivot pin and they overnighted me a bag of spare mounting/safety parts at no charge.

I have not heard anything negative about them. If I buy another 700 I will try out a Triggertech .

I had one (RB) on a Surgeon 591 that developed creep that could not be tuned out. I ended up going Timney. I wouldn't buy another based on my experience.

I'll second the Timney recommendation. My friend installed a RB trigger in his 700 Remington. He didn't like it, I shot the rifle myself, while it may be better than the standard trigger....it ain't no Timney. I have Timney triggers & safetys in both of my Remingtons. JMO

I've installed their Savage 2 trigger on three different target rifles, Mine and two buddies.
The biggest problem was getting them mounted to the rifles, all three required some filing on the trigger body to get the pin hole to line up.
Once mounted there's a little tinkering to figuring out which spring I wanted to use to get the adjustments down to minimum but at 4oz. it's a very nice and clean trigger.
The AccuTrigger is great on a hunting rifle but the Rifle Basix for this application is much better.

I put one on a Savage Axis, it was pretty simple and works fine.

The comments are appreciated. Just happened to notice these triggers in the new Brownells catalog. Apparently they have been around for a while.

I had one on a custom 7 WSM long-range gun, It was a GREAT trigger, never a problem, right there with the other great aftermarket triggers.

lotech - had the Rifle Basic trigger installed on an older (2003) pre-accutrigger Savage M16 in .308W when I replaced the syn stock with a laminated one. Set at a crisp 3# it made a world of difference. That said, I opted for a Timney on a newer Rem M700 LR .30/06 target rifle and had it set at 2#. Used the best trigger for the application. Considering an aftermarket trigger for a new Remington 700. Any general opinions or comments based on experience with Rifle Basix triggers ? There are better options. I wouldn't have another. I had an RB on a Surgeon action. After 1200 rounds, it developed creep in the trigger which couldn't be adjusted out. After that experience, I went Timney and haven't looked back. Others I would consider are Shilen and TriggerTech. If wanting a light trigger (< 1 lb.), Jewell would be the route.

Have had one for a number of years in a 700 ADL with no problems.

I've had one on a pre-accutrigger Savage Mod. 10 since 2006. I like it...... Never had any problems and it breaks cleanly at just over 2.5 Lbs. on a Lyman digital gauge.

Bought one here in the classifieds, so I don't know if the previous owner messed with it, but it is a creeepy mofo, this is on a 700.

I have more than several on 700s and other makes and have never had an issue. I have mounted many more for others. I also have a number of others including Timneys. I had a bad CS situation with Timneys several times and will not buy another. I do not find them to be a better trigger than the RB.
