Is anyone currently making replacement barrels for Winchester 1890/06 (.22 s-l-lr)?

Have you checked with GPC or Jack First?

Since the Rossi 62s are virtual clones of the Winchester pump guns, you might be able to rework one of those barrels without too much effort. GPC has these barrels for $60, their part number 1262530A.

Had a liner put in mine. Works great

Is the barrel externally pitted or something? Relining is an "acceptable" practice on these 90/06s. Everyone knows the powder was super corrosive and all those barrels are toast. So if you are doing a restore and the only issue is the bore is junk...I'd say just reline it. Now if the outside of the barrel is pitted beyond saving by draw fileing then maybe a new barrel is the way to go...if anyone makes one.

Sad to advise that the Rossi's are at best, stand off replicas, with a lot of parts falling into, "close but no cigar" dimensional plot.
IIRC, the barrels are like that, and don't just fall into place, on an original. Mag tube's same.

Seems most with outside pitting on the barrel will have pitting on the receiver and tang also...might not be worth the cost of a new barrel as a new shinny barrel would hurt collector value also...if it's pitted it's a shooter grade gun...I would reline it and blast away....personally I would rather have one I could use than one to look at...they are way to fun of a rifle to be stuck in a safe...

I probably should have written that they are "metric copies", rather than "virtual clones".

One of my friends replaced the pitted barrel and magazine tube of a 1906 with the Rossi parts. He said that the barrel and magazine tube required little additional work.

I got this Winchester 1906 at a pawn shop in 2016 for $195.

The upper is 1909. The lower is 1910.
I had to replace the magazine tube spring, some screws and another linkage part from the old homestead.

There is not much blueing, except on the minty new Winchester replacement barrel.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Re-lining is not an option since the barrel which was on my '06 had been 'over-shortened'. I bought it years ago at an auction as "parts".- serial numbers not matching.

All of the barrels(both original and new-made) listed on the Homestead website are marked "temporarily out of stock".

Numrich made a lot of these. The ones I have shot were crap. I wood look for an old barrel and reline.
