if you deal on armslist you will need medication.

I concur that AL is a waste. Have seen GB pics and descriptions show up as well.

Basically, if something is on Armslist and bubba doesn't want retail + 10% for it, it's a scam.

That's true but the world has always been that way. The Latin phrase Caveat emptor was probably translated from a Greek phrase which was translated from Egyptian which was translated from Babylonian...

Every gun I have seen on armslist in which I was interested in buying turned out to be a either a scammer, who wouldn't meet face to face or a legitimate seller who would meet. I've met several face to face and made purchases. I have never bought one there to have one shipped.

I've actually had decent luck with armslist until lately. Once got a nice wood stocked Savage .270 with nearly 100 rounds of ammo for south of $300 off there.

I had the same thing happen on a S&W 57, he used the dealers pictures and even had his business card next to the gun.

Happens all the time. Using Google Image search is your friend, if the photo shows up in more than one place it's a scam (99% of the time)

I have sold several rifles on Gun Broker & they showed up on Arms list a several months after the auctions were over. Best bet is just stay away.

Geez, I mean some of the things one there are not close to being right. I had one shotgun where the fellow sent me detailed pictures. I then asked him to send me another picture with the gun and a picture of an orange with the gun. Didn't have a digital camera. Said, where did the original pictures come from. Answer a friend took them and sent them to him. Then I decided to play along and say where does he want the money sent. He said a PO Box in WV. I said, that the listing said the gun was for sale in Va. His reply was he was working in Va, but the X wife was in WV. Asked a couple more questions and he went dark. Throw away cell phone was what he was using btw. The gun was priced cheap for sure. Way too cheap. I end up reporting scams about every third time I go on Armlist to Armlist. Rather amazing that they can even operate.

That's the way I've tried to play it,but I've not yet bought anything there and have about quit looking. 4-5 times I've tried to pay asking price and meet someone anywhere they want, but they only want to ship, which says to me,they only want my money, and likely have nothing at all to sell.
