Maybe for J.B. or the rest of the campfire brethren...
Just got a new scope sent to me from Bushnell Repair as they couldn't repair the older one I sent in.
The sent me a Trophy 3 x 9, which I wasn't overly impressed with...
so I called their customer service...and talked about a possible upgrade.
They went over a few options, but directed me to a new series they have Called the Engage.
They had a 4 x 16, 30mm tube, Target Turrets and a very useful reticle they called Deploy MOA.
The scope lists for $399.99...but they are exchanging and upgrading me from the TRophy for $80... which I consider a pretty darn good deal.
We'll see how it looks when it gets here in a week or two.
So question is, if anyone has picked up one yet... and has any opinions formed on it.
The series on their web site looks like a well thought out series of scopes.
Not Cadillacs but certain a very serviceable looking scope series.
Since this one is costing me $80 and a scope that was 10 or 12 years old and broken...which I got my money's worth out of...I'm getting treated pretty well by their customer service.

I don't know anything about the scope you're getting but it sounds like a good deal. Kudos to Bushnell customer service.

They look like a decent entry level scope for dialing...But...the 4-16 has a dismal 50 moa of travel, which is odd for a 30mm tube

Well when she shows up....
I'll road test it and give a field report on her....
she'll see service on a 223 bolt action, so its goes enough for my needs...

I purchased a 2-7X35 engage for my short range 358 win after it killed a SWFA 1-4X24 in short order. We will see how it goes.

What fresh Hell is this?

I've got a 4 x 16 on the way....
and also on Friday they told me another scope sent in was non repairable, so they wanted to replace it...
but allowed me to upgrade to a 3 x 12 with a 30 mm tube and tact turrets...
also ordered a 2 x 7 for $90....
The latter two ship Monday.

Any updates? That 2-7x36 might be just what I have been looking for.

Grady,
Got the 2 x 7 in the mail today....came in a shipping box big enough to ship about 4 of them in it...
its going right back to Bushnell tomorrow morning...
This thing has to be messed up at the factory, because I can't believe that this is as they intended to sell it...
the Field of View is like looking down a pistol scope....and its field of view is beyond ridiculous..
its also awfully big and clunky for a 2 x 7...has to weigh twice as much as a Leupold 2 x 7.
I had also ran across a deal on a Diamondback 2 x 7 from Vortex....
the Vortex is going to be the one I'll be putting on the rifle this one was intended for...
If I sent you this Bushnell for free, you wouldn't consider me a friend once you got it...
I've got a couple of 4 power Tascos that were $25 new....picked them up for 22 scopes...
Those Tascos are 10 times the scope this 2 x 7 is....
Wish I had better news, but for the money... pick up a Vortex 2 x7 Diamondback or a Leupold used if you can find it...
only good thing to say about this Bushnell, with its weight, it would be handy for a door stop.

Well that's discouraging, would like to also hear a hands on evaluation of the 30mm models.

2-7's seem like a tough scope to get right these days. There's not many affordable new models that compare with the Leupolds...sadly. I just don't understand why they can't get a bigger field of view.
It's like the world went to 3-9x40's and the 2-7x32's are now just an afterthought slapped together.

I don't know the advantages to having those huge eye pieces especially on compact scopes.

I don't know the advantages to having those huge eye pieces especially on compact scopes. The larger ocular lens allows for more field of view. Kind of like a larger objective allows for more light to enter the scope.
