That kid was excited as all getout to try his hand with a .22HP. He came to me on the sly and politely asked if he may fire it. Then it turned out he had no concept of how an aperture sight worked. Lo and behold he took to it like a duck takes to water. It's good to know that there will be at least one man walking around 50 years from now who knows the joys of a Savage M1899 carbine!

Those of you who aren't conversant with the Savage 99 Club on Facebook, don't be afraid. Come on over. I like both places, and a bunch of guys from here are on over there too. It's the same as here, only different. I think both venues compliment each other, and since it's all about Savages, what's not to like?

Only able to attend one day, but had a great time and met some new friends. Joe has a great venue and if he has the gumption to do it again in the future , I would recommend it highly.

Randy, glad you were finally able to catch up with some of the group. Nice of Joe to put it together and foot the bill. Sounds like all had a great time. I see several old friends from the 24 made the gathering. Wish I could have made the trip.
