Anyone have any recommendations for a good belt for OWB holster carry that is decent quality and stiff enough, but doesn't cost a fortune? I'm looking for something that I can wear with jeans and kakhi slacks and am not interested in "tacti-cool" nylon web [bleep]. Maybe something like a Galco or Bianchi would suffice?

Galco's are great quality. I have about six of them of various widths and weights. Get the widest width you can (at least 1.5") and get the Sport Belt or similar. Their dress belts are not good for supporting holsters.

I've had one of these Amish belts from Hank's for several years. Thick leather and reasonably priced.

Ive tried several over the years, and unless its a Kydex lined leather belt, its not worth looking at. I have been wearing the same Looper Kydex Leather belt for 5 years, and the one before it lasted 9.

Bull hide belts. You can get a good stiff belt in most of their styles, varying widths and thicknesses

Sign-up for their email specials, wait for one of their frequent sales, and you can get a very decent belt for $50 or less. If you carry a fairly lightweight pistol you can get by with their standard thickness line but they also have thicker (1/4") options for just a few bucks more.

I don't know whether a miltsparks.com is a "breaks the bank" holster maker to you or not, Triggernosis. But you will appreciate the quality of their products

Galco SB2 has been my choice for 20+ years. Excellent quality. And I carry a full sized auto every day (Glock 17).

Another vote for Filson. Stiff enough for a gunbelt, works fine with jeans or whatever....I'm wearing one right now. Another belt I have that works well is a bison belt from Schnees.

Add me to this Filson list. I have a black and a brown and can easily carry an all steel 1911 45 ACP all day without any problems. I've had one for about 7 years and the other about 5. Alternate them but wear one or the other every day, all day.

I wouldn't write off the web belts from 5.11, especially with jeans. With the right holster they work a well as the Filson at 1/3 the price.

I also have Filson single belts, I wore one for years. Then my sister gave me the double a good 5 or 6 years ago. It's so much more than twice as good. I should thank her again.

And you generally pay twice as much to have the Filson name on it.
