Agreed.

If you require old school, any good meat market can provide.

I like Claus' German Meat Market franks.

Claus has a master's degree in sausage making, which the Germans are actually sausage-crazy enough to have a program for.

I'd kill for a sausage shop around here. I miss the smell of the pork store on main street when I was a kid.

Won't buy commercial (big name), love a good deer sausage as a dog !

Old school meat store (4 hours away) makes great sausage, smokies, brats etc.

North country meats = http://www.northcountrymeats.com/products.html

* They will also make sausage from, your own, wild game !

Well, there's a place near Culpeper VA that makes a real good all bison meat hot dog, but they're up to $14/lb now and I'd rather buy ribeyes at that price!

My wife is from Rhode Island and grew up with http://www.saugys.com/ .and thinks there's no substitute.

I have to admit they're a darn good a combo of beef and pork and a nice snappy casing. We often buy a case when we're up there. I do think the Wegmans German style hot dogs are a pretty good substitute though.

Mustard is great, as long as it is either brown &/or whole grain !!

Yellow mustard is for small children, whose taste buds haven't developed.

Nobody over five years of age should be putting ketchup on a hot dog.
