Finally UPS just left me a package from GA Precision.

Specs.
6mm Creedmoor
Stiller Tac30
Bartlien #3 1:8 fluted finished at 25" (Wanted 23" but the guys at GAP talked me into 25")
Manners EH1 with the Elite clear web in FDE flush cups on the left side and badger rail up front.
Jewell trigger
BDL bottom metal
Ceracoated flat black with FDE flutes.

I have a Leupold VX6 3-18 or Nightforce ATACR 4-16 to try on it. Leaning towards the lighter Leupold in a set of Tally lightweight rings/bases though.
This is replacing my 25-06 and hope that it fills the roll. Components will be showing up on the UPS truck tomorrow.

Thinking about having a 6mm Creedmoor built.....and just curious why GAP said 25" was the way to go.
Thanks

They just said it fit the cartridge and the purpose of the gun better. I originally spec'd a 23" and they called 4 months into the wait to ask about changing it. I didn't question it too much and just deferred to them.

That appears to be worth the wait. Great looking rifle you have there!
What are you going to feed it?

I have three GAP rifles and they are the easiest rifles that I have had to develop loads for. They seem to shoot anything that I throw at them.

Curious here - did you specify keeping the shank that long?

I didn't. Originally I specified a 1.5" shank. It was GAP that recommended changing it for better balance.

On the bathroom scale it weights 7.3lbs with the rail. Which was just over the 7lbs I was shooting for, but I'm sure that the longer shank is what threw it over.

So, now that you've taken delivery, are you satisfied with their recommendation(s) or is it too early to tell?

I am happy with the balance. I haven't got the hunt or walk in the woods with it yet though so I will wait but so far I am completely satisfied.

The components and loaded rounds showed up today and the talley lightweights will be in by Friday I hope. So I will report back Monday on how she shoots.

Nice rifle I'm sure you'll be very happy.

Kinda odd though that they built mine and thought my 3/4" shank and 22" barrel orders were great. I did have mine done a couple 2-3 years ago So maybe they have a new phone answer man?

I have nothing on that. My original specs called for 23" with a 1" shank (dug out my first work order to check) then they called me in April asking if they could change it to 25".

Did you have a manners eh1 stock as well? Maybe it's because of a different stock?

Gun looks great and lots of room to set her back 2500 rounds down the road.
Is the barrel length 25" from the lug or bolt face?
If a builder like gap recommends little touches. Best to listen closely! I use the oil the manufacturer recommends in my vehicles figure they know something I don't.
