I am looking into buying a Mossberg 500 Slug Gun.

There are two models that I am looking into. The one has the cantilever scope mount, the other has receiver scope mounts. Both have rifled barrels.

They are both on sale!

I don't want to spend the extra money if it is not warranted.

Does the cantilever system have an advantage over the receiver mount as far as retaining a good zero on accuracy.

This will be a slug gun only, so switching barrels is not a concern!

I really appreciate any responses..........time is running out on this sale!!!

Soldering the bbl into the receiver helps the accuracy of a gun with a receiver-mounted scope. Since you don't plan to be changing the bbl.

An old dog don't run no trails, an old dog don't flush no quails, but he can still bury a bone.
