Actually, that's not true. There'll be another one in 2024. Here's a map of the path.

We have to share that one with the Mexican and Canadians. It's the NAFTA of celestial displays.

In Northern Colorado, we'll get about 75%. The local paper is forecasting "massive" traffic along I-25 as people drive up to Wyoming. Frankly, I can't believe that so many people would travel hundreds of miles for a 2 minute event. I'd just rather watch it on TV and have a beer.

Except for the smoke caused by the forest fires caused by 10X the amount of normal idiots in the mountains with raging campfires..............I'm thinking 50,000 people in the Stanley area is a recipe for a wreck.

Saw a total eclipse in Australia in 1986. It was cool but not cool enough to drop everything and head north, unless of course I was going fishing on the Platte or something like that.

I think that once it is all said and done there will be some major disappointment from some of those who made a pilgrimage.
I'm thinking you'll hear gripes that they drove a long way and then it only got dark for a couple minutes, not nearly as good as burning man, and so on.

Yeah Oregon will be a parking lot...

there is already a major concern about fuel shortages over the next week...

price at the pump is sneaking up real quick also...

Heck our anti Military Lesbian Governor is so concerned about people's welfare
she's even activating units of the Guard and Air Guard....( for lord knows what!)

Motel 6 will set you up with a room if you can find one with one available...

all for the discount rate of $300 to $450 a night...

all for 90 seconds of it being "kinda dark" during the day time...

Ohhhhhhh.... AAAAHHHHHHH...

Okay kids, back in the Winnebago....I wonder where I can get a Hot Dog around here...

I-405 southbound between Bothell and Bellevue was abnormally packed with traffic today. I wondered where everyone was going for about 5 seconds before it hit me. Tons of people heading to OR to watch.

There was a news report today about the millions of fake eclipse glasses sold. They said to get a bright LED flashlight and see if you can see light through the glasses. If you see any at all, they're fakes.

I'm in Stanley. It's not too crowded yet but there's a steady stream pouring into town. I can't imagine it will get to 50k, but we're prepared if it does...
