Any one else a fan or take the subscription? I've had it gifted to me for the last 4-5 years and have enjoyed it....

I picked up a copy about a month or so ago. Some interesting stuff, but I don't think all of it is practical. Just my opinion; YMMV.

I've been reading it for a year or so. I enjoy it very much. Some of it isn't practical for me so I just skip it.

My buddy gets it, and brings a copy or two to the deer camp. After casually paging through the thing, I noticed the price on the front. Now, when he brings copies, I call them the "Backdoorsman"!

They have some interesting stuff at times but they often seem to lean a little... left.

Backwoodsman may seem a little lean at times but at least it's not full of filler. It seems that 90% of the articles I read I have to go over, or skip, a history of the company.
The older I become the more I am convinced that the voice of honor in a man's heart is the voice of GOD.

Where did you see the "foo foo green leaning"? I write for them from time to time, and know the editor fairly well. I haven't seen anything I would call green either. I do know they vet their writers pretty stringently.

I bought a copy here & there in the past.
There's some real jack leg stuff in there , some of it past stupid to the point of being dangerous.
Charlie (?) the owner always has a page of old wore out knives for exorbitant prices , stuff you can get at the flea market for nearly nothing if you're interested in such.

The last time I looked at a magazine it was nothing more than consumer ads and puff articles supporting the ideas and products of the advertisers. I have no interest in them. There's better info on the net if you can weed through the BS.
