Thanks for all the outpouring of support! I know he had a VX-1 on his rifle before. What's the lowest price everybody has seen?

I'm overwhelmed by the offers to assist. I'll pass on the contributions only because my friend would be very uncomfortable. I appreciate all the advice!

If you jump on eBay and shoot people offers, you may be surprised. I picked up a NIB VX1 for $140 and a NIB VX2 for $210. if you want the seller I got them from, shoot me a PM.

I check out the swfa sample list occasionally and noted that they had some discontinued Nikon buckmaster 3-9 and 4-12 scopes listed as well as some weaver grand slams. The nikons are $89 and $99 respectively which is a bargain on a pretty decent scope especially at that price. The other deal out there is cameralands deal on the z3 minox. I ve bought from both and had excellent service .

Bushnell 4-12x40 RTS Multi-X Rifle Scope, #764124RT, Hardwoods Camo Riflescope with Camo Rings and Bra Cap, only $49.99

Our Bushnell Rep called me up and said he had a few of these scopes that were demos. They have camo rings and caps and are not in a box. They look mint condition to me and since he offered these to us to blow out at only $49.99 I jumped all over them.
If you are interested please give us a call, we have 6 of them.

If there is anything you're looking for please give us a call at 516-217-1000. It is always our pleasure to speak with you.
Have a great day.

Thank you for your continued support.
If there is anything else that I can assist you with please let me know.

That IS a blowout! Those Bushnell scopes are $163 retail, $99 on sale at Optics Planet for the plain matte black without rings (it also has 4 out of 5 stars in 39 reviews).

Right now I consider the Nikon Pro Staff 3-9X40mm w/BDC a pretty good bang for the buck.

Liliysdad mentioned it but I have two of the SIH Sightrons and they are indeed serviceable. I would buy another.

They are made in the Philipines, that might be a turnoff for some...
