The Venture in 30-06 , anyone have a factory load that shoots MOA ? 1 3/4" to 2" is the best I have gotten so far and that was with Remington 180 gr corelokt . Have tried 150 , 165 , and 180 gr by Remington , Federal , Winchester , Hornady , and Creedmore . The Hornady and Creedmore opened up to 3-4" groups . This was with three shot groups , allowing three minutes or so between shots . Sightron SII 4-12x42 . Stock of rifle setting in bag just forward of the magazine to use the stiffest part of the stock to shoot off of . I have one in the predator model in 308 , it shoots the ADI very well . Was hoping to find a factory load for the 30-06 , bought it for my step son and he doesn't hand load . Was wondering if anyone here had one that shoots the MOA claim , if so what are you using ? Thanks , Kenneth

Might check to make sure the The barrel is free floated. I had to do some sanding on my last one. 280

I have the rifle in .308 and it's crazy accurate.

My 270 venture is sub moa shooter. Just as good as my tikka. I'd take off your scope and check the bases/rings. I'd also check if the barrel is touching your stock, and the screws that attach the action to the stock..
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

My 2 TC Ventures (6.5x284 and 308) are both sub MOA rifles, I would try some HSM Bergers and switch out scopes. Good luck.

My "grandkids" compact 243 shoots about everything under an inch, only thing it really don't like is hornady superformance. This group is with the now discontinued federal deer thug ammo.

Kenneth66,
You shouldn't have to try resting the rifle on different parts of the stock to get it to shoot well. I would bet something's either wrong with the stock bedding or with the scope. In either instance, changing the ammo/bullet won't help.

I have the rifle in .308 and it's crazy accurate. Should add that it prefers Federal Blue Box followed by Hornady American Whitetail followed by Remington Core-Lokt and they all hover around moa or a bit better.

Tried it today with Federal 180 gr. partition . Not so good either , I went over the base and ring screws before mounting the scope . I have a nice Burris I'll drop on it and see how that goes . Tried the 180 gr corelokts again and one three shot group did a nice triangle in less than an inch the other had two good and one flier . I did notice a couple times today I had to refocus the scope . As said , it may be the problem . Will let you know what I find , thanks , Kenneth

Ken--try some Hornady Whitetails after you change scopes. Good luck.
