Racism, bigotry, hypocrisy and ignorance come in ALL skin tones and satire, hyperbole and jest are, it seems, confined to relatively few, at least here on our beloved 'fire. I have always found that those who whine loudest about "racism" to be the MOST intolerant and I also notice that such people, oftimes claiming superior education, frequently post serious errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation and so forth, exactly as they accuse others of doing...ironic, eh?

To imply that a man who does manual labour is somehow less erudite, of inferior intellect or perhaps of inferior social status is EXACTLY the sort of bigotry that those who snivel about "racism" appear to be protesting about; why would such paragons of progressive values stoop to this level.....unless they were/are hypocrites of the worst type.

To state that someone might get torn to bits in a certain geographical area by the denizens thereof, especially when that someone is a "faller" in the "big wood" of the northwestern coast demonstrates an egotism born of severe inner conflict concerning personal identity, personal courage and social acceptance. Having actually worked in this industry in this region, I seriously doubt that a city boy from Boston ( I trained a few of them in fire-fighting in BIG Cedar here years ago on an exchange programme) would even consider making such threats in person, but, maybe a scream of "Banzai-white trash" and the inevitable non-traditional "Seppuku" by 'Stick might prove me wrong, one can only hope.

Funny about "racism", it only seems to apply to we "white trash" folks, but, not to others....amusing, eh?

I cannot speak for the rest of the crowd, I don't know them that well tbh. But I don't give a tinker's damn whether the man is a racist or not. The problem is that this is not the place for it. Period.

A man can go to stormfront or any of the other racist websites and talk about all this kind of stuff he wants and fit right in. But politics and hunting and campstoves and all the rest are what I thought this place was about. I didn't register on this site to get called in front of the man for keeping this kind of company.

PS-I love some of the defense for Stick here.Obviously none of you have ever been on the recieveing end of racial slurs.I have,many times.It's not a good feeling.

It's very simple guys. If you don't like what he says, put him on ignore. Rick has been great about letting us self manage and I hate seeing people start making calls for deleting threads or banning members. On a side note, if you're getting your panty's in a wad about something you read on an internet message board you might to take step back and chill out. Lifes to short to get pissy about every little thing you don't agree with.

It's NOT about defending Stick, it's about something far more important than that; Stick can defend himself as he has demonstrated here.

I agree with LSU, getting too worked up about calling somebody a name here is a bit ludicrous.

I don't care if he stays or goes and I haven't asked anyone to ban anyone or to curtail this thread, or the other one where this imbecile spouted off in this manner. I haven't emailed Rick or anyone else about it.

But the fact is that I, and probably a few others here, are in positions where this kind of stuff is absolutely unacceptable. And if it becomes the norm I gotta go. No question but that I'll drop this place like a bad habit before I'll answer to my boss as to why I associated with this kind of ilk.

I don't care what his feelings are. I'm not trying to change his mind in the slightest. I am not deriding him for his feelings. But this should not be the place for it. If it is then I have to leave.

Can't imagine anyones boss caring whether or not half a dozen posts (out of many thousands) contained the word "chink". It ain't like Rick is flying a swastika at the top of the page.

Fine, I am in a somewhat similar situation, BUT, do you also find lhonda's frequent use of racial slurs and personal diatribes against what he calls ...milky-white...posters acceptable? lhonda frequently initiates this name calling rhetoric annd also threatens other posters here, so, maybe what some are trying to say is that Stick is simply putting him on and honda then demonstrates what HE really is.

BTW, I have been the recipient of ethnic slurs MANY times in my life, including here....so what, life is tough.
